Frans Hals Museum: one address, many centuries of Haarlem art
On the Groot Heiligland, Frans Hals remains on view while some rooms are closed. The exhibition with Rembrandt only begins on 6 November.

In October 2026 the Frans Hals Museum can be visited at one location in Haarlem: Groot Heiligland 62. The former HAL location on the Grote Markt has no longer been in use by the museum since March.
According to the museum profile on Museum.nl, the Frans Hals Museum holds the largest collection of paintings by Frans Hals in the world. The profile also mentions Judith Leyster, Cornelis van Haarlem and Jacob van Ruysdael. The museum's own homepage also lists Isaac Israels, Coba Ritsema and Iriée Zamblé.

From 17 August to 15 October, three rooms are not accessible because of works, the visit page reports. The museum says that all works by Frans Hals remain on view during that period too.
According to the agenda, Het raadsel van het meisje in het blauw ran until 11 October and is therefore over on 13 October. Hals-Rembrandt has not yet begun: that exhibition is scheduled from 6 November 2026 to 28 February 2027.
For Hals-Rembrandt, booking online in advance will be compulsory, the museum reports, because of expected crowds. During that exhibition the museum will open at 10:00. These are conditions for the coming period.
The current site on the Groot Heiligland has a historic entrance gate and a courtyard. The museum uses this location for the collection presentation and the temporary exhibitions.
According to the visit page, the Frans Hals Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00. Adults pay €18.50, young people aged nineteen to twenty-four and CJP holders €9. Visitors up to and including age eighteen and Museumkaart holders have free admission.
