A farm around 1900
The Historie van Ruinen foundation furnished the museum farmhouse to show rural life around 1900. Visitors see the farmhouse kitchen, the upstairs room with its ear-iron bonnets and two fully stocked cabinets, box beds and many everyday objects. The barn floor in the rear part of the house holds old farm implements and several farmers’ carts. Volunteers lead the tours.
Exhibition loft and photo archive
Above the barn floor is an exhibition loft with changing displays. The foundation also has an online photo archive of about 5,000 images of the former municipality of Ruinen, available since 20 December 2024; old photographs can be brought in for scanning. During opening hours, Pasmans Huus sells Bertus Mos’s book on Ruinen in the Second World War (€12.50) and the foundation’s birthday calendar (€7.50).
