Doll and bear restoration
What began as a hobby grew into a doll and bear restoration practice. A damaged doll or bear enters the ‘doll hospital’ and leaves restored. Before-and-after photographs on the website show what arrived and how it looked when it left. The shop has old games, dolls, bears, snow globes, music boxes, miniature tableware, dolls’ prams and dolls’ furniture.
The museum
The museum displays what the workshop owner has collected over the years: dolls in traditional dress, Schildkröt dolls, Wildebras dolls, porcelain dolls, Steiff bears and animals, miniature tableware and other toys dating from the 1920s onward.
Making bears
If enough people enrol, a course of four evenings or half-days begins in October. Participants sew a classic bear of cotton or mohair with jointed arms and legs. They can also learn to make a miniature bear by hand. Talks are available for businesses and organisations.
