Living on board
The cabin display offers a homely way into the visit. Look at the layout and read how the museum explains life on board. The limited space makes the interior a concrete subject, even if you know little about ships.
Workshops for the ship
A forge and a sail loft are among the things described. Do not look at the tools separately from the ship: the explanation can make clear which part is made or maintained with them. That way a technical detail finds its place in the whole.
Ships at the quay
The organisation names Aebelina, Risico and Dorp Grouw as museum skûtsjes. Ask which ships are present and can be visited. A name in the collection does not automatically mean that you can go on board or sail along on the day of your visit.
Before you go
The season includes extra summer and holiday days. Groups can also visit outside the season by appointment.
