What the display cases cover
The museum’s own collection description mentions rock crystal, amethyst, pyrite, sulphur and fluorescent minerals, among others. On a future visit, this offers different ways of comparing: colour, crystal shape, surface and reaction to the lighting used.
More than shiny minerals
Petrified wood, geodes, meteorites and glacial erratics are also mentioned. Their significance cannot be read from their appearance alone. The explanation of how they formed and where they come from helps you understand differences that a casual glance cannot establish.
Waiting for a new chance to visit
The museum also has a classroom and mentions options for school classes and groups by getting in touch. That does not mean it automatically opens outside the season. Ask for a date to be confirmed and find out which rooms will be available then.
