A long-held wish
Museum owner Joke van Gent has been an Elvis Presley fan since 1956. The museum was a long-held wish of hers. She assembled the collection of items from Elvis's era herself.
What you can see
Besides the guitar from 1959, there are clothes from the same period. You can see MGM studio film sheets used during the filming of Jailhouse Rock and a shirt Elvis wore in the film. There are also the first five singles on the Sun label, film posters, signed record sleeves and photographs.
De Marpleats
The museum is housed at the antiques farm De Marpleats on the Stavoren–Hindeloopen tourist route. A large collection of jukeboxes and 1950s items is also for sale there, along with antiques on three floors.
