Five generations of the Brantsen family
The hall and six historically furnished rooms on the raised ground floor tell the story of five generations of the Arnhem-based Brantsen family. You can see the interior decoration, marble floor and collection of family portraits. The portraits formed the basis for the founding of the Brantsen van de Zyp Foundation, and some have returned to Zypendaal. Silver, historical photographs and decorations also refer to the family. The other rooms house the central office of Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen.
Orangery, coach house and park
Beside the house, you can look at the orangery and coach house and walk through the park with its many water features. The Sint-Jansbeek stream rises in Zypendaal Park, which borders Sonsbeek city park. The park has flowing streams, changes in elevation, rhododendrons, ponds and old trees.
Visiting
The house can be visited on the first and third Sunday of each month, on a guided tour or independently. The available times are shown when you book tickets. Schools can bring classes, and groups can book a tour or a package that also includes Rosendael Castle and Park. Dogs are not allowed inside the house, apart from official assistance dogs; they are welcome on a lead in the park and woods. Parking is free.
