De Tien Malen: Putten between tool and schoolbook

Historisch Museum De Tien Malen on the Schovenhorst estate tells the story of Putten and its surroundings. Archaeology, clothing, crafts and school life offer different starting points for a visit.

Plan your visit ↗

A region in objects

Agricultural and craft tools stand alongside archaeological finds. Ask, for each object, where it was used or found. That local background makes the difference between a general collection and a story about Putten.

Clothing and learning

Knipmutsen and mourning caps draw attention to clothing and customs. School life forms another theme. In 2026, a temporary exhibition about the illustrator Cornelis Jetses is mentioned; check the current programme if you want to come for that.

An afternoon at Schovenhorst

The museum has a season running from April to October. In July and August an extra Tuesday afternoon is added. Outside the season there is no regular drop-in; groups can discuss an appointment.

Before you go

Check the exhibition dates and the season; from November to March there are no regular visiting afternoons.
