Cannenburch: rooms full of use and display

Kasteel Cannenburch in Vaassen presents furnished rooms with paintings, furniture, tableware and silver. The park woodland also offers room to view the building from outside as well.

More than beautiful objects

Indoors, note the connections between the furniture, panelling and portraits. An object takes on a different meaning once you see where it stands and what function a room had. The furnishing invites you to view use and display side by side.

A striking detail

A four-poster bed and a coconut-shell cup are among the collection pieces mentioned. During your visit, choose a piece that raises questions and read the accompanying text carefully. This makes a visit more personal than quickly passing through every room.

The season changes the route

You can visit the castle independently, with a guided tour, or during an activity, depending on what is on offer. November has fewer opening days; in winter there are special occasions. Events can also cause an early closing time.

Before you go

Check the GLK calendar for the season, activities and any earlier closing time.
