What was on display
RTV Noord described a collection of regional costume from the northern Netherlands, including jackets, neckerchiefs (tipdoeken), ear irons and lace caps. That makes the former contents concrete, but does not confirm that these pieces are still present or accessible at the address.
Clothing as an ensemble
The combination of textiles and jewellery described shows the kinds of questions a costume museum can raise. How are separate items worn together? What explanation is needed to understand function and decoration? At this closed venue, you can no longer explore those questions during a regular visit.
An address is not an opening to the public
In older guides, the Langestraat address is still linked to the museum. Do not treat such listings as proof that you can go inside. Even a possible occasional opening of the building would be something other than a reopening of the costume collection.
Before you go
Permanently closed as a costume museum. Any opening of the building for an event is not confirmed.
