The earlier museum description mentions police caps from various countries, alongside uniforms and emblems. A collection like this offers a way into shape, recognisability and clothing. A cap can be looked at as an object without immediately knowing all the organisations behind it.

RTV Noord reported that the caps and uniforms had left the former station building on Zuiderweg. Older guides listing visits by appointment in Slochteren are therefore not a reliable basis for an outing. The museum listing remains useful for avoiding that confusion.
