Learning to read a tool
Choose a tool and ask what it was used for. Where was force applied, what touched the material and which part calls for precision? Questions like these make an object understandable without your needing to know its name straight away.
Photograph beside object
The combination with old photographs offers a second way of looking. Ask whether an action shown in a photograph can be linked to a tool on display. The image can help, but do not let your own assumptions quietly take the place of missing explanation.
A lecture as an occasion
The museum opens during lectures and by appointment. So check the programme first or get in touch about your interest. A clearly defined question about a farming task can give your appointment more focus.
