Kasteel Groot Buggenum: a guided tour by appointment

Kasteel Groot Buggenum in Grathem is a historic castle venue that is also used for weddings and events. The castle and garden are not open for free viewing; arrange a guided visit in advance.

Plan your visit ↗

Building and interior together

The restoration by architect Helmut Hentrich is an important point of reference when looking around. Ask how the tour links the building, the interior and later alterations. That way you avoid automatically assuming that everything you see is equally old.

The garden is part of the appointment

The gardens are not accessible without permission either. Discuss which parts the guide will show and how much time is set aside for them. A guided tour usually lasts about one to one and a half hours, depending on the format agreed.

Events determine availability

There is no fixed weekly museum schedule. Parties and other bookings affect availability, especially around Friday and Saturday. Contact the venue directly and wait for confirmation of date, group size, price and accessibility before you finalise the visit.

Before you go

No open access to the castle or garden. Have the visiting option and guidance confirmed directly in advance.
