Guided tours by mining mates (koempels) and former miners are mentioned as part of what is offered. Their stories can add context; check in advance who is available and what the tour covers.
Looking at images
Photos and film can show work that cannot be seen directly in the building. Use them alongside the objects on display, without expecting an underground visit.
Before you go
Wednesday morning is a drop-in time; other visits are by appointment. Ask about the route for people with limited mobility: a lift mentioned as part of the collection is not necessarily a visitor lift.
