Bierreclame Museum: design around beer

The Bierreclame Museum in Breda focuses on beer advertising. The collection is combined with a café and beer garden, so a visit can be about both design and the setting of the product.

Letters and images

The museum describes advertising material with Art Deco and Art Nouveau design, among other styles. Even without prior knowledge you can look at letterforms, colour and the balance between image and brand name. This shows which parts of a design draw attention to themselves.

An international collection

Besides Dutch and Belgian beer advertising, the collection description mentions material from other European countries. That invites you to look at designs side by side. A tasting is also part of what is on offer; ask what options there are on the day of your visit.

Sunday as the fixed day to visit

The regular opening is on Sunday and continues into the evening. Music and other activities depend on the calendar. Groups of more than eight people are asked to let the museum know in advance. Do not count on a separate private event: that option is no longer offered.

Before you go

Check the Sunday calendar and register a larger group in advance.
