Kempenmuseum: temporarily closed for renewal

Temporarily closed; reopening in mid-December 2026 (according to the museum). The Kempenmuseum in Eersel, also known as De Acht Zaligheden, is closed in 2026 for a major renovation. A normal tour of the regional museum is not currently possible.

Plan your visit ↗

De Kempen as a subject

The museum focuses on De Kempen, with the farm, the landscape and local heritage as its subjects. That coherence remains the starting point for the renewal, but the exact visitor experience after the renovation will only become clear on reopening.

A new visitor centre

The work includes a visitor centre, facilities and storage space. The museum farm is being given a renewed museum role. So do not treat earlier photos or routes as a reliable description of what will be accessible later.

Alternatives by appointment only

During the closure, certain activities and options for coach companies are mentioned. That does not give individual visitors free access to the museum. Ask about a specific programme on offer, and for a regular visit wait for the confirmed reopening.

Before you go

In October 2026, the museum said it would reopen in mid-December. The exact reopening date has not yet been confirmed.
