A castle as a home
Do not look at the rooms merely as separate halls. How do the furnishings and the building relate to each other? Use the museum’s explanations to put the elements in context; an interior can bring together different periods and choices.
Take time outside too
The estate gives the visit a different scale from the rooms inside. Plan these parts together if you want to see both. Events may have their own programme or admission arrangements, which can temporarily change the usual museum route.
The route to the entrance
For the usual route by car, navigate to the Kasteel Heeswijk car park. A separate approach via the Gouverneursweg applies for visitors with disabilities. Ask in advance which parts are accessible. The ticket desk and café-restaurant close earlier than the castle itself.
Before you go
Preferably book in advance, including with a Museumkaart (Dutch museum pass). Check accessibility, public holidays and the earlier closing of the ticket desk.
