Hedendaagse Kunst Waalwijk: continuing in the Huis van Waalwijk

The former GMHK has continued as Hedendaagse Kunst Waalwijk. Current exhibitions take place in the Huis van Waalwijk on Raadhuisplein, not according to the old museum schedule on Grotestraat.

A changing programme

HKW shows work and invites guest exhibitors within a flexible programme. So check which exhibition is on for your date. A past exhibition or an old museum name does not tell you what is currently available.

Art in the former town hall

The Huis van Waalwijk provides a historic setting for contemporary art. Look at the works on their own first, then notice their relationship to the space. You do not need to know the building’s history beforehand to notice that interplay.

Making use of weekend hours

Regular exhibition opening is on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. An old Friday opening of GMHK is no longer a useful guide. Ask about the accessibility of the monumental building if stairs or thresholds matter to you.

Before you go

Use Raadhuisplein 2 and check the current programme; do not follow old GMHK hours or the former address.
