When you arrive, step back for a moment to take in the composition of the façade. Inside, attention shifts to the scale and finish of the rooms, each of which calls for a different way of looking.
Looking at a reception room
In a richly furnished room, decoration, doorways and proportions work together. Look at the whole before picking out details, and use the accompanying information to understand the functions of the space.
A house visit by time slot
The limited visiting format makes booking necessary. Private hire can change the normal weekly opening; a general listing of Wednesday to Sunday therefore gives no certainty for every date.
Before you go
Check the current weekly calendar and holiday closures. Discuss access to the rooms in advance if you need to take stairs or changes in level into account.
