Learning to read a site
Do not just look inside a bunker; also look at how the buildings are positioned in relation to one another. The explanation about anti-aircraft defence and the airfield provides context. Ask what functions the individual parts of the complex had.
Construction and use
A bunker is a solid structure, but its shape does not automatically tell you everything about its use. Pay attention to openings, passages and the explanations provided. Distinguish between visible features and what is explained from historical information.
Access and terrain
The site is not wheelchair accessible and can be muddy. Wear suitable footwear and use the designated meeting point opposite Hoeverweg 27. Outside the opening times, groups of five or more can request an appointment.
