Follow the foundations, remains of walls and tower shapes, and ask which parts were restored in the nineteenth century. A ruin is also the result of conservation.

Personal stories give the residents a face, but check which object or document supports the chosen episode.
Garden and view
The kitchen garden shows use alongside defence and status. Differences in level and stairs make many parts difficult to access.
