The overview first
Start with a map and look at how the museum represents the polder. Which places do you recognise, and which connections are explained? With that overview in mind, you can look at the individual objects in a more focused way.
Adding moving images
Films and animations tell the story differently from a static map. Take time to see which development they clarify, then return to an object connected with it. That way a spatial overview alternates with smaller details.
Researching a family history
On the first Monday of the month there is a genealogy consultation hour. If you have a question about family research, you can ask whether it can be discussed there. Bring specific names, places or questions; the consultation hour is a separate reason for a visit.
Before you go
For family research, check the consultation hour; for a Wednesday visit, check the seasonal schedule. Groups book in advance.
