Goors Historisch Museum: a town in a former station building

The Goors Historisch Museum brings together objects from the town in a former railway station. From a scale model of the town to the textile display, you can look here both up close and from a distance.

Goor to scale

A scale model makes it possible to take in a town as a whole. Look for which landmarks the explanatory text points out and how they relate to one another. A model is a representation of a particular situation, not automatically a map of present-day Goor.

Small and large objects

A clock, silver cups, pottery and knipmutsen (traditional lace caps) are part of the collection described. Choose an object by material and then ask about its use. This creates different points of entry into the same local story.

The textile floor

Upstairs, the museum covers the town’s textile past. Connect that presentation to what you saw downstairs: what role do work, residents and buildings play? Check the accessibility of the upper floors in advance if using stairs is difficult for you.

Before you go

Use Stationslaan 5 for the museum entrance. Office accessibility is not the same as museum opening.
