The Rusluie presentation covers the connection with St Petersburg. Let the museum’s explanation bring the people, routes and objects together, rather than drawing a historical conclusion from isolated objects yourself.

The textile theme gives a different perspective on work and products. Ask which activities are explained in the current display and what role the materials on show play in them.
Back to the village
The village theme makes room for Vriezenveen itself. Look at how the museum places that local scale alongside the other subjects, and where recognisable places or residents appear in the presentation.
Before you go
Check the visiting schedule. For Monday and Saturday, appointments are mentioned; those days are not simply the same as the fixed opening on other weekdays.
