The museum begins its story with the workspace of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Look first at the Apple I: a single circuit board, without the familiar case of later computers. The Apple II then shows how an expandable system found its way into homes, schools and businesses.
From Lisa to Macintosh
Lisa and Macintosh show how windows, icons and the mouse changed the way people used computers. Notice the relationship between the case, the screen and the action on screen: it makes the idea of a personal computer tangible.
A computer in your pocket
Later rooms move from the desktop to iPod, iPhone and iPad. The display connects products from different periods; compare how controls and form changed across generations.
Before you visit
Current hours and tickets are listed on the museum website. Regular opening is Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 17:00; the museum also mentions visits for groups outside those hours.
