't Wienkeltje van Wullempje: shop and home in miniature

In Hoedekenskerke, 't Wienkeltje van Wullempje preserves the atmosphere of a small shop and dwelling. A visit fits in with an outing on the museum train, provided its own calendar shows it is open.

Behind the little shop

The living room, kitchen and box bed make clear that this place was more than a point of sale. See how living and shopping come together in the presentation. The furnishings refer to Wullempje and his family, not to just any old house.

Something to take home

Old-fashioned sweets are sold here. That can be a small follow-up to looking around, but the museum visit itself is free. Take your time over the furnishings first, so that the little shop does not become just a quick stop to buy something.

Timing it with the train

Opening follows the designated steam train and calendar days. A stated time of half past eleven to half past four does not mean the door is open every day. Groups can arrange an appointment outside the usual times, possibly for a fee.

Before you go

Check the museum’s own monthly calendar and, if you are coming by train, your return journey. The visitor address is Kerkstraat 26.
