Memorial 40-45 Kapelle: French involvement and local war history

Memorial 40-45 Kapelle focuses on the French armed forces in Zeeland and on life in Kapelle during the occupation and liberation. A guided tour ties together objects, photographs and documents.

Plan your visit ↗

Two perspectives side by side

See how the French involvement and local history meet in the presentation. Personal stories can offer a way in, while documents and photographs provide a different kind of information. Let the commentary make clear what belongs to which story.

Looking with a guide

The visit includes a guided tour of about one to one and a half hours. Let the guide know if you are interested in a particular subject. Schools, groups and participants in a Battlefield Tour make separate arrangements about content and time of visit.

Plans to move are not yet an address

There are plans to move towards the French military cemetery. So do not assume a new visitor address on your own. Confirm the current location and the Saturday opening; outside the season, visits are by appointment only.

Before you go

Confirm the current address and time of visit. The regular season Saturday runs until 16.00, despite differing information elsewhere.
