The position of pupil, book and blackboard can raise many questions about a lesson. Look at how the arrangement is explained rather than simply comparing it with your own schooldays.
Pictures as teaching aids
Geography wall charts and reading boards show how information is presented visually. Notice how words and images are arranged and how that guides a pupil’s attention.
Listening while you look
An audio tour can add context to the collection. On arrival, ask about the route available and how it suits a visit with children.
Before you go
The number of opening days changes with the season. Check December and January in particular; group guided tours outside the timetable must be arranged in advance.
