Compare two species by leaf, bark and growth habit, and read the plant label. Living specimens change with the seasons and call for a different time of viewing.
Hostas as a national collection
The hosta collection shows variation within a single plant group. Look for differences in leaf colour, veins and size without naming varieties on appearance alone.
The landscape shapes the route
Older parts of the garden, paths and sightlines determine how plants are experienced together. Use the map and allow for temporary works.
