From hand model to shop counter
The collection as described includes Dutch and foreign examples, among them shop-counter grinders. Compare how much space a machine takes up and who probably had to operate it. Ask the collector what use has been recorded for the example on display.
Form and finish
Besides being a tool, a coffee grinder can also be a carefully designed object. Look at the material and where the controls are placed. A visit now requires an appointment first; listed café hours are no proof that the museum is open.
